  • Quiz with Quizmaster Kevin Staveley. 8:00pm in the Gulbenkian Theatre.

 

29 July 2010 - Presentation by Sheffield. There was a presentation yesterday (Thurs) about the 98th British Chess Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheaf Street, SHEFFIELD, S1 2BP, 24th July to 6th August 2011. Leaflets and more information about next year is available in the analysis/bookstall area. Just pop in and ask someone there.

27 July 2010 - On-line booking for University accommodation.
On-line booking is still available for rooms at the University. College accommodation is available including Bed & Breakfast with prices from £24 per person/per night. Booking are are still being taken for the weekend and week 2 events.

 

27 July 2010 - LIVE Championship games. Click to see LIVE games (Tuesday 27th July - 14.15 start). The broadcast is delayed by about 5 minutes.  As always there are some initial on-site technical matters to overcome but the intention is to broadcast 20+ games.

6 May 2010 - British Championships Quiz 2010

 

You are invited to test your skill and knowledge with this year's Championship Quiz. Entry is free and open to all.

 

Prize: Free entry to the section in Canterbury 2010 of the player’s choice for which s/he is eligible. Where a player enters more than one section, the prize will be applied to the highest entry fee section entered. Where players have already entered, the fee will be returned to the player. The prize is non-transferable. Only one entry per player is permitted. Send your answers, numbered 1-15, to  before Monday 5 July.
